The Newell Memorial Field and Jimmy Carey Stadium are one step closer to demolition. 

On Friday the Hancock County Commissioners had a company come out to assess the scrap-metal value of both stadiums.

News 9 reports the commissioners say the company came up with a figure that the county can get for the scrap, and later, commissioners will bid it out.

The next step will be to level the stadiums.
