The Brooke County sheriff is investigating an apparent homicide. 

Our news partner News 9 reports emergency officials received a call from a person who had found Jason Lee Pratz unresponsive in his McKinleyville home Tuesday.

When the Brook County Coroner arrived at the house on Genteel Ridge Road, Pratz was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound.

Brooke County Sheriff Chuck Jackson declined to release many details about the man's death. J

ackson says his office will be working with a state police laboratory in Charleston as well as the local task force to help the investigation.

Jackson plans on releasing more details later on Wednesday.
