Two Belmont County sheriff’s deputies had to be treated at Ohio Valley Medical Center after being assaulted.

Sheriff Dave Lucas tells News 9, both deputies responded to a call Tuesday afternoon in Lloydsville for a combative patient.

While attempting to restrain the man one deputy was bitten and the other suffered a shoulder injury.

Police have identified the suspect as 28-year old Ryan Puskarich of Lloydsville. Puskarich was also taken to OVMC, for a medical evaluation.

The sheriff’s office is still investigating and charges are forthcoming.

They believe Puskarich’s violent and uncontrollable behavior may be drug related.
